The Joseph R. Boyd Memorial Boat Fund
Joseph "Joe" Boyd was a prominent Tallahassee attorney who unexpectedly passed away in January 2021. Besides being a mover and shaker in Tallahassee law and political circles, Joe loved the outdoors, specifically water and boating. Capital City Rowing, Inc., with the blessing and support of his loving wife Sue Boyd, is looking to partner with sponsors to raise funds and purchase a much needed new 8-person regatta boat (shell), for use by its high school youth rowing members in the community. Once funds are raised and we purchase the boat, we will honor Mr. Boyd by naming the boat after him. Racing shells usually stay in circulation for 15-20 years, so Joe's name , story, and legacy will live on for years to come in his beloved community. CCR's goal for this gesture of remembrance is to raise $30,000 to purchase this new boat. To donate, simply fill out the form below and, in the comment section write "Joe Boyd Memorial Boat Fund" so we know to earmark your gift. You can also mail your gift to us at:

Our goal is to raise these funds by September 1, 2021, so we may purchase our new "Joe Boyd" before the start of our fall racing season. We know we can count on the Tallahassee area, and all who knew and loved Mr. Boyd, to support our endeavor in his honor. CCR is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible. If, for some reason, not enough funds are raised to purchase a new racing shell, we will find some other way to honor Mr. Boyd with the funds we raise.
